Allows a California State University faculty member to remain on the Board of Trustees for one additional year after their 2-year term expires if the Governor has not appointed a successor, or until a successor is appointed, whichever occurs first.

Requires the faculty member to be tenured at a CSU campus and appointed by the Governor from a list of at least two candidates furnished by the Academic Senate of the California State University.

Prohibits the faculty member from participating on any board subcommittee responsible for collective bargaining negotiations.

Incorporates conditional amendments from AB 2721 that would add a permanent nonfaculty employee member to the board, contingent on both bills being enacted and effective by January 1, 2015, with this bill chaptered last.
