Removes references to vocational rehabilitation maintenance allowance as an alternative to temporary disability for California Highway Patrol members disabled by a single injury.

Limits leave of absence benefits for local public safety employees (police, firefighters, sheriffs, probation officers, etc.) to disabilities arising from a single injury only, excluding cumulative trauma or injuries.

Specifies that public safety employees are entitled to leave without loss of salary in lieu of temporary disability payments for up to one year, not exceeding the disability period.

Applies the single injury requirement to California Highway Patrol members whose disability results from cumulative trauma or injury, limiting benefits to actual temporary disability period or one year, whichever is less.
