Natural Resources Agency, in collaboration with the Ocean Protection Council, must create and post a Planning for Sea Level Rise Database on the Internet by January 1, 2016, describing state actions to prepare for and adapt to sea level rise.

Specified public agencies and private entities (including airports, ports, utilities, coastal commissions, and state departments) must submit sea level rise planning information to the Natural Resources Agency by July 1, 2015, and biannually thereafter.

Database must be organized by geographic region with entries for each city, county, and city and county within the coastal zone and San Francisco Bay area, including studies, vulnerability assessments, mapping, and local coastal programs.

California Coastal Commission must provide information about which coastal jurisdictions have implemented local coastal programs and whether they address sea level rise.

This legislation automatically repeals on January 1, 2018, unless extended by subsequent legislation.
