Deletes the provision in Penal Code Section 166 that made it contempt of court for a juror to willfully disobey a court admonishment about communicating or researching about a case, including electronic or wireless communication or research.

Retains all other contempt of court provisions related to disorderly conduct, disobedience of court orders, breach of peace, witness refusal, and other forms of courtroom contempt.

Approved by Governor on July 8, 2014 and chaptered as Chapter 99.
