Requires at least one director or teacher at each day care center and each family day care home licensee to complete at least one hour of childhood nutrition training as part of health and safety training for licenses issued on or after January 1, 2016.

Childhood nutrition training must include content on age-appropriate meal patterns based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and information about reimbursement rates for the federal Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

Directs child care providers to the CACFP Unit of the State Department of Education for detailed information on CACFP eligibility and enrollment.

Authorizes the Emergency Medical Services Authority to establish standards for childhood nutrition training through bulletin or similar instructions from the director until regulations are formally adopted.

Makes legislative findings that nearly 25 percent of California's preschool-age children are overweight or obese and that early childhood nutrition habits are formed during these formative years.
