Expands the definition of cultural competency in continuing medical education for physicians to include information pertinent to treatment of and care for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex communities.

Authorizes accrediting associations to update cultural and linguistic competency standards for continuing medical education courses as needed, in conjunction with an advisory group with relevant expertise.

Requires all continuing medical education courses offered on or after July 1, 2006 to include curriculum on cultural and linguistic competency in the practice of medicine, with limited exceptions for research-only courses and out-of-state providers.

Defines cultural competency as integrated attitudes, knowledge, and skills enabling healthcare professionals to effectively care for patients from diverse cultures, groups, and communities.
