Proclaims May 2014 as California Museum Month in recognition of museums as educational institutions in California.

Acknowledges that California is home to over 1,400 museums located throughout the state that serve millions of visitors annually, including art museums, zoos, aquaria, science centers, botanical gardens, and cultural centers.

Recognizes that California museums serve over 2 million kindergarten and grades 1-12 students and over 1 million college and university students annually through field trips and outreach programs.

Notes that two-thirds of California museums partner with schools and school districts to provide educational programs that enhance public sector instruction.

Invites museums, museum service organizations, California residents, and local governments to recognize the essential educational role that museums play in serving communities, the nation, and the world.
