Expresses legislative intent that California community college districts not reduce hours of part-time faculty or part-time classified employees to avoid compliance with the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA)

References PPACA employer shared responsibility requirements mandating large employers provide minimum essential health care coverage for employees working an average of at least 30 hours per week

Notes that the Internal Revenue Service defines service hours to include unpaid work such as office hours and preparation when calculating full-time employment status

Acknowledges that colleges and universities across the United States have reduced part-time employee hours to circumvent PPACA compliance, which was delayed until January 1, 2015

Directs the Chief Clerk of the Assembly to transmit copies of this resolution to the Chancellor of the California Community Colleges and the bill author for distribution
