Create a parent resources Internet Web site by the State Department of Education providing information on public school options, including the Open Enrollment Act, schools of choice, charter schools, parent empowerment options, and local control and accountability plans.

Include school district and school level reports on pupil outcomes such as standardized test scores (API, AYP, STAR, MAPP), graduation rates, and school accountability report cards, unless information is available in local control and accountability plans.

Provide information on career education programs (partnership academies, regional occupational centers, agricultural education, linked learning), transfer policies, school eligibility based on residence, and schools honored as National Blue Ribbon Schools or California Distinguished Schools.

Make the Web site information searchable through an interactive database with relevant data for individual schools, available in English and Spanish when possible, with a link from the department's main Web site.

Require the Superintendent to determine before implementation that the Web site complies with department Internet policy and state and federal security and privacy requirements for pupil and department data.
