CA SB1291

Authorizes the Halcumb Cemetery District in Shasta County to inter nonresidents and nonproperty taxpayers in their cemeteries, up to 400 total interments with a maximum of 40 per calendar year.

Requires the cemetery district board to determine adequate cemetery space exists for the foreseeable future before allowing nonresident interments.

Mandates the district maintain an endowment care fund with minimum contributions required for each interment and collect nonresident fees as specified in existing law.

Amends Section 9063.9 of the Health and Safety Code to include Halcumb Cemetery District alongside four other specified cemetery districts with similar interment authority.

Declares a special statute necessary for Shasta County due to unique circumstances of the Halcumb Cemetery District.
