CA SB1425

Requires the Chancellor of the California Community Colleges to identify and procure commercially available utilities to conduct systemwide automatic degree audits for monitoring student progress toward degree, certificate, or transfer requirement completion.

Establishes implementation timeline requiring at least 84 community college campuses to have the automatic degree audit system in place by December 31, 2018, and all campuses by December 31, 2019.

Mandates the degree audit system enable counselors, advisors, and student services staff to monitor student progress and provide students access to degree progress profiles through an Internet Web portal.

Requires the Legislative Analyst's Office to submit a report to the Legislature and Governor on implementation progress by December 31, 2020.

Makes the bill operative only upon board of governors certification that sufficient funding from state, federal, or private sources has been received to implement the online degree audit system.
