Authorizes the Department of Fish and Wildlife to install dashboard cameras (patrol vehicle mounted video and audio systems) in patrol vehicles used by peace officers.

Permits peace officers to use dashboard cameras to record communications and actions while in uniform and acting within the scope of their authority.

Requires the department to adopt a policy establishing standards for activating dashboard cameras and preserving recordings.

Mandates the department retain recordings for a minimum of 90 days and maximum of one year, except when necessary for pending or foreseeable civil or criminal actions, or for training and administrative purposes.

Requires access to recordings be provided in accordance with all other provisions of law.
