Adds Section 30626 to the Penal Code to exempt the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection from assault weapon and .50 BMG rifle possession prohibitions.

Authorizes the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection to issue assault weapons or .50 BMG rifles to sworn peace officers employed by the department when necessary to perform their duties.

Allows peace officers employed by the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection to possess and use assault weapons or .50 BMG rifles in the course and scope of their official duties without violating existing prohibitions.
