• Authorizes optometrists certified to use therapeutic pharmaceutical agents to administer immunizations for influenza and herpes zoster virus to patients 18 years of age or older, contingent upon completing CDC-endorsed immunization training, basic life support certification, and complying with state and federal recordkeeping requirements.

• Requires the State Board of Optometry to establish by regulation a fee for immunization certificates not to exceed $100, with fees deposited into the continuously appropriated Optometry Fund.

• Clarifies that all moneys collected under the Optometry Practice Act are deposited in the Optometry Fund and continuously appropriated to the board to carry out its regulatory functions.

• Deletes obsolete provisions relating to advanced procedures, habilitative optometric services, and expanded scope of practice for certified optometrists that were struck from the bill during legislative amendments.

• Provides that no state reimbursement is required for local agencies or school districts because the bill only changes the definition of crimes within the meaning of state constitutional requirements.
