Prohibits the sale or contract for sale of shelled eggs in California for human consumption starting January 1, 2015, if the seller knows or should have known the eggs came from hens not in compliance with animal care standards

Changes the standard from an absolute prohibition on non-compliant eggs to one based on seller knowledge or constructive knowledge of non-compliance

Violation remains a misdemeanor offense

Applies to animal care standards set forth in Chapter 13.8 of the Health and Safety Code (commencing with Section 25990)
