CA SB711

Increases the filing fee for Public Utilities Commission applications for certificates of public convenience and necessity from $75 to a maximum of $500, with the commission authorized to adjust the fee based on the Consumer Price Index.

Requires the fee charged not to exceed the reasonable costs to the commission for processing the application.

Repeals Section 1906 of the Public Utilities Code, which previously required certain fees collected by the commission to be paid monthly into the State Treasury to the credit of the General Fund.
