Department of Toxic Substances Control must issue a final permit decision (approval or denial) by December 31, 2015, for facilities operating under interim status since January 1, 1986 or earlier

Interim status for facilities described above terminates on December 31, 2015, or upon issuance of final permit decision, whichever is earlier; administrative petitions may extend termination beyond that date

Interim status for other facilities granted before January 1, 2015, terminates January 1, 2020, or upon final permit decision, whichever is earlier

Interim status granted on or after January 1, 2015, terminates five years from the grant date or upon final permit decision, whichever is earlier

Department may temporarily suspend facilities operating under expired extended permits or interim status to prevent or mitigate risks to public health, safety, or the environment, with a hearing required within 30 days of a notice of defense
