Encourages public officials and citizens to observe the month with appropriate activities and programs

Recognizes prostate cancer as the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men aside from skin cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death in men

Notes that California projects approximately 22,080 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2014, with an estimated 3,065 deaths

Urges men to make informed decisions with their health care providers regarding early detection and testing for prostate cancer
