AB 1348 Summary

• Establishes a federal grant administrator position within the State Clearinghouse, designated by the Governor to serve as the primary point of contact for federal grants related to community, economic, and local development

• Authorizes the federal grant administrator to work with state and local government, nonprofits, and institutions of higher education on federal grant applications and management, and to maintain federal grant information on the Office of Planning and Research's website

• Requires the federal grant administrator to prepare an annual summary beginning January 1, 2018, reporting on federal grant metrics including total grants awarded, applications submitted, dollars received and expended, and training sessions conducted

• Permits the federal grant administrator to identify state employees with federal grant expertise and support establishment of a statewide network of federal grant coordinators across local governments, special districts, and nonprofits
