AB 1426 Summary

• Removes requirement that after school program components operate until at least 6 p.m. on regular schooldays, while maintaining minimum 15 hours per week operation.

• Increases per pupil daily attendance rate from $7.50 to $8.50 and minimum weekly grant from $37.50 to $42.50 per projected pupil, effective July 1, 2017.

• Increases per day of pupil attendance rate for six-hour per day summer programs from $15 to $17 per day for grant reduction calculations, effective July 1, 2017.

• Declares the bill an urgency statute taking immediate effect to address the current deficit in the After School Education and Safety Program.
