Requires family child care providers to complete a one-time, two-hour training on occupational health and safety risks specific to child care, effective July 1, 2017.

Mandates training content include discussion of chemical/biological hazards, infectious disease, physical hazards, stress, small/large group discussion, and feedback opportunities for providers.

Directs the Department of Industrial Relations to competitively select an entity to provide the training and the State Department of Social Services to administer the contract.

Allows the State Department of Social Services to establish a schedule requiring all family child care providers to complete training within four years or within three months of becoming a provider, whichever is later, with priority given to licensed providers.

Amends Health and Safety Code Section 1596.86 to allow the training entity to receive names and addresses of small family day care homes for purposes of providing training and educational updates.
