Grants purchase options to specified cities and school districts for five state armories: Santa Barbara Armory (City of Santa Barbara or Santa Barbara Unified School District), Brawley Armory (City of Brawley or Brawley Union High School District), Indio Armory (City of Indio), Lynwood Armory (City of Lynwood), and Pomona Park Armory (City of Pomona, with option reverting to Los Angeles County if Pomona declines).

All purchase options expire on July 1, 2017, after which unsold armories must be offered for sale under existing law (Chapter 355 of the Statutes of 2015).

Armory sale prices shall be based on fair market value determined by appraisal, using zoning conditions as of March 1, 2016, with terms and conditions set by the Director of General Services.

Armory sales are conducted pursuant to Section 435 of the Military and Veterans Code, with net proceeds deposited into the existing Armory Fund for legislative appropriation.
