Amends Civil Code Section 56.11 to allow medical information release authorizations to be in electronic format equivalent to 14-point type, in addition to handwritten or 14-point typeface requirements.

Exempts federal government agency authorization forms from the font size requirement.

Adds "surviving spouse" as an authorized person who can sign a medical information authorization for a deceased patient.

Maintains all existing requirements for valid authorizations including clear separation from other language, specific uses and limitations, expiration dates, and disclosure of recipient information.
