Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery must develop guidance by July 1, 2017 for collecting and recycling materials (paper, plastic, metal, organic waste) in office buildings of state agencies and large state facilities.

State agencies and large state facilities must provide adequate receptacles, signage, education, staffing, and arrange recycling services in each office building beginning July 1, 2018.

State agencies and large state facilities must conduct annual reviews of receptacle adequacy, condition, signage, education, and staffing for recyclable materials.

State agencies must include compliance summaries with this act's requirements in their annual solid waste reduction reports submitted to the department by May 1 each year.

Community college district buildings and facilities are excluded from these requirements.
