CA SB1100

Establishes the Worker Occupational Safety and Health Training and Education Program (WOSHTEP) to develop and provide injury and illness prevention education programs for workers throughout California.

Revises the fee calculation for the Workers' Occupational Safety and Health Education Fund to include a percentage of paid workers' compensation medical amounts in addition to indemnity amounts, with fees capped at the greater of $100 or 0.0286 percent of total paid amounts.

Requires WOSHTEP to collaborate with the Occupational Health Branch of the State Department of Public Health to develop a California occupational research agenda focused on preventing prevalent and costly occupational injuries and illnesses.

Requires WOSHTEP to work with University of California occupational health centers to provide training to community-based health clinics serving vulnerable workers, including non-English speakers in high-risk occupations.

Names the program "The Dr. Julia Quint Program for Research and Prevention of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses" with the goal of preventing occupational injuries in vulnerable worker populations and reducing injury costs through early intervention.
