Changes Fish and Game Code Section 1504 to require the Department of Fish and Wildlife to pay county taxes and assessments on wildlife management areas, rather than merely authorizing such payments.

Department must pay annually to counties an amount equal to county taxes levied when the property was transferred to the state, plus assessments from irrigation, drainage, or reclamation districts.

Payments are subject to legislative appropriation and must be made by December 10 each year (or within one year of acquisition for newly acquired property).

Cancels and waives any delinquent penalties or interest on assessments made before September 9, 1953.

Specifies that payments cannot be allocated to school districts, community college districts, or county superintendents of schools.
