Prohibits employers from requiring California-based employees to agree to adjudicate employment claims outside California or waive substantive California law protections for disputes arising in California, effective January 1, 2017.

Makes contract provisions violating these requirements voidable at the employee's request, with disputes to be adjudicated in California under California law.

Allows courts to award reasonable attorney's fees to employees enforcing rights under this section and specifies that adjudication includes both litigation and arbitration.

Exempts contracts where the employee was individually represented by legal counsel during negotiation of venue, forum, or choice of law provisions.
