SB 130 Summary

• Requires the California Housing Finance Agency, Department of Housing and Community Development, and Department of Veterans Affairs to establish a grant process for funding supportive services to veterans in housing programs, including job training, mental health and drug treatment, case management, care coordination, and physical rehabilitation.

• Makes supportive services grants available to entities based on the efficiency and effectiveness of services provided to veterans.

• Implementation of the grant process is subject to appropriation by the Legislature.

• Applies to the Veterans Housing and Homelessness Prevention Act of 2014 and programs funded through Proposition 41 bond authorization ($600 million in general obligation bonds for affordable housing for low-income and homeless veterans).
