SB 468 Summary

• Authorizes the Beach Cities Health District and Peninsula Health Care District to use design-build procurement processes for construction of facilities and buildings in those districts until January 1, 2022.

• Applies Chapter 4 of the Public Contract Code's design-build procedures to these two health districts, subject to the Alfred E. Alquist Hospital Facilities Seismic Safety Act of 1983.

• Expands the crime of perjury by requiring design-build entities to certify submitted information under penalty of perjury, creating a state-mandated local program.

• Declares no reimbursement is required because costs result from changes to crime definitions under Government Code Section 17556 and Article XIII B of the California Constitution.

• Takes effect immediately as an urgency statute to facilitate early construction of health care facilities in both districts.
