Deletes the authorization to use the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine's Occupational Medicine Practice Guidelines as standards for independent medical reviews in medical provider networks.

Establishes that the standard for medical provider network independent medical reviews shall be identical to the medical treatment utilization schedule established in Section 5307.27.

Requires the administrative director to contract with individual physicians or independent medical review organizations to conduct independent medical reviews when treatment remains disputed after a third physician's opinion.

Specifies that medical professionals conducting reviews must be appropriately credentialed physicians with current specialty board certification, no disciplinary history, and no conflicts of interest.

Sets a 30-day timeline for the independent medical reviewer to issue a written report to the administrative director, with expedited 3-day reviews available when an imminent threat to the employee's health exists.
