CA SB995

Requires the Department of Water Resources to update well construction standards for water wells, monitoring wells, and cathodic protection wells by January 1, 2019, based on existing knowledge and submit them to the State Water Resources Control Board.

Updates the existing standards contained in Bulletin 74-81 and Bulletin 74-90.

Requires the State Water Resources Control Board to revise its model ordinance for well drilling and abandonment upon receiving the updated standards from the department.

Applies to water well, cathodic protection well, and monitoring well construction and abandonment practices.
