Designates Monday, May 2, 2016, as California Peace Officers' Memorial Day to commemorate peace officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty

Recognizes four California peace officers killed in 2015: Officer Michael J. Johnson (San Jose Police Department, March 24), Officer David J. Nelson (Bakersfield Police Department, June 26), Sergeant Scott P. Lunger (Hayward Police Department, July 22), and Officer Bryce E. Hanes (San Bernardino Police Department, November 5)

Recognizes Officer William H. Waggoner of the Long Beach Police Department, killed on December 18, 1954, who was not previously enrolled in the memorial

Urges all Californians to honor peace officers who gave their lives for public safety and express appreciation to those continuing to dedicate themselves to making California safer
