• Recognizes that more than 27,000 AmeriCorps members in California provide services in education, public safety, health, environment, and disaster response across 3,200 locations statewide

• Notes CNCS committed $108,520,000 to California in the current year with leveraged partnerships providing an additional $49,930,000 in resources

• Highlights that national service programs generate $3.95 in return for every dollar invested and $2.20 in savings to other government programs per federal dollar spent

• Acknowledges that since 1994, more than 120,000 California residents have served through AmeriCorps programs, completing over 150 million hours of service
