Recognizes Sally Ride as the first American woman and youngest American to go to space on June 18, 1983, aboard the Challenger

Notes Ride's accomplishments including service on the President's Committee of Advisors on Science and Technology, directorship of the California Space Institute, and induction into multiple halls of fame

Designates the Commission on the Status of Women to select a commission responsible for choosing the sculptor and obtaining necessary funds for the statue

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit the resolution to the President, Vice President, Congressional leadership, and all California members of Congress
