Allows physician assistants and nurse practitioners to sign authorization forms for Medi-Cal program benefits and services, subject to specified criteria.

Requires that the physician assistant or nurse practitioner be authorized by the supervising physician or standardized procedure/protocol to provide the service within their scope of practice.

Requires both the supervising physician and the designated physician assistant or nurse practitioner to be enrolled as Medi-Cal providers.

Applies to authorization forms for the Genetically Handicapped Persons Program and Child Health and Disability Prevention Program in addition to Medi-Cal.
