Approves provisions of the memorandum of understanding between the state employer and State Bargaining Unit 6 (California Correctional Peace Officers Association) dated May 14, 2018, that require expenditure of funds.

Provisions requiring expenditure of funds will not take effect unless funds are specifically appropriated by the Legislature; either party may reopen negotiations if funds are not appropriated.

Amends Government Code Sections 19829.9846 and 19829.9847 to include State Bargaining Unit 6 (effective July 3, 2018, to July 2, 2019) in continuous appropriations to the Controller for employee compensation if the Budget Act is not enacted by July 1 in fiscal years 2018–19 or 2019–20.

Continuously appropriates necessary funds from the General Fund, special funds, federal funds, and other state employee compensation funds to pay compensation and benefits to covered employees until the relevant Budget Act is enacted.

Takes effect immediately as a bill providing for appropriations related to the Budget Bill.
