State Department of Public Health must investigate and apply for federal funding opportunities to support maternal mental health, including grants under Section 10005 of the federal 21st Century Cures Act.

Programs funded through these federal funding opportunities must be financed entirely by federal funds with no state contribution required.

Department must report to the Legislature by January 1, 2020, on its efforts to secure and utilize the federal funding received.

Section 123611 of the Health and Safety Code sunsets on January 1, 2023, unless extended by subsequent legislation enacted before that date.
