Schools must notify pupils and parents/guardians at least twice annually about how to access available mental health services on campus or in the community.

Schools must use at least two notification methods for parents (letter, parent handbook, or website/social media) and at least two methods for pupils (document, orientation materials/handbook, or website/social media).

Counties may use Mental Health Services Act (Proposition 63) funds to grant money to school districts, county offices of education, or charter schools to support these notification requirements.

School districts, county offices of education, and charter schools may apply to their respective county for grants to fund the notification activities.

If the Commission on State Mandates determines the bill creates state-mandated costs, reimbursement shall be made according to Government Code Part 7 procedures.
