Director of California Conservation Corps must establish a forestry corps program by July 1, 2019.

Forestry corps program shall develop and implement forest health projects, establish forestry corps crews, provide forestry training and degrees to corps members, and create pathways to forestry jobs.

Director must establish 4 forestry corps crews by January 1, 2020: one in the Central Valley, one in the Inland Empire, and two in state responsibility areas or very high hazard fire zones.

Forest health projects include fuels reduction, tree planting, tree mortality removal, tree nursery training, firefighting training, and forestry education outreach.

Director shall partner with certified community conservation corps where feasible and may partner with community colleges, trade associations, and apprenticeship programs to provide training.
