Amends Education Code Section 44944 to expand exemptions to the 4-year statute of limitations for evidence in school employee dismissal and suspension proceedings.

Permits testimony and evidence regarding allegations of sexual behavior or communication with pupils beyond educational program scope in disciplinary proceedings based on similar conduct, if the allegations were substantiated through investigation or prior discipline.

Allows testimony and evidence regarding allegations of lewd and lascivious acts under Penal Code Section 288, Section 288.3, Education Code Section 44010, and Penal Code Sections 11165.2-11165.6 to be introduced in any disciplinary proceeding regardless of when the conduct occurred.

Maintains existing procedural requirements for Commission on Professional Competence hearings, including 6-month commencement deadline and 7-month deadline for closing the record.

Effective September 27, 2018.
