Requires persons completing death certificates to record whether the decedent was ever in the Armed Forces of the United States.

Directs the State Department of Public Health to compile annual reports on veteran suicide in California using data from the electronic death registration system, including information on ages, sexes, races or ethnicities, and methods of suicide.

Requires the State Department of Public Health to provide the veteran suicide report annually to the Legislature and the Department of Veterans Affairs beginning January 1, 2019.

Specifies that no state reimbursement is required for local agencies because the bill only changes the definition of existing crimes.
