Extends the statute of limitations for filing lawsuits under fire insurance policies from 12 months to 24 months after inception of loss if the loss is related to a state of emergency as defined in Government Code Section 8558(b).

Revises the standard form of California fire insurance policies and county mutual fire insurance policies to incorporate the extended lawsuit deadline and other regulatory updates.

Requires insurers to provide claim-related documents to claimants within 15 calendar days of request, excluding attorney work product, privileged communications, and documents indicating fraud or containing medical information.

Mandates insurers provide policyholders with a free copy of their complete policy within 30 days of a covered loss, or one free annual copy if no loss has been experienced.

Requires insurers to provide written status reports when a third or subsequent adjuster is assigned to a claim within a six-month period, summarizing decisions and actions related to claim disposition.
