Requires all general acute care hospitals and acute psychiatric hospitals to adopt and implement a linen laundry processing policy by January 1, 2020 that complies with the most recent infection control guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Applies the requirement to hospitals that use medical laundry service providers as well as those that operate their own laundry facilities.

Permits use of more energy and water efficient laundry processes while maintaining hygiene standards for linens used at health facilities.

Creates a new crime for violation of the linen laundry processing policy requirements; no state reimbursement is required for local agencies under Proposition 98 because the costs result from creation of a new crime.
