Students called to active military duty during an academic term may withdraw retroactively to the beginning of the term and receive a full refund of tuition and fees in accordance with Section 824 of the Military and Veterans Code.

If at least 75% of the academic term has been completed, students may request that faculty assign a grade based on completed work, with faculty making the final decision on the request.

Students assigned an Incomplete grade have a minimum of 4 weeks after returning to the institution to complete course requirements, with additional time available through alternative arrangements with faculty consistent with military service provisions.

Institutions must comply with federal readmission procedures and timelines for military students under Section 668.18 of Title 34 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

All provisions apply to students enrolled at any of California's five postsecondary education segments: California Community Colleges, California State University, University of California, independent institutions, and private postsecondary institutions.
