• Prohibits creditors from annotating service members' credit records with military status, falsely claiming military affiliation when collecting debts, or contacting a service member's military unit without written consent.

• Extends court protection timelines for service members from 60 to 120 days after military service ends, and allows service members to apply for additional stays if military duty continues to affect their ability to appear in court.

• Reduces interest rate caps to 6% for service member obligations for 120 days after military service (previously no time limit), extends this protection to student loans for one year after service, and includes student loans in reservist payment deferment options.

• Expands lease termination rights to allow service members to terminate residential and motor vehicle leases when entering military service or receiving deployment orders, with prorated rent refunds and no early termination charges.

• Requires creditors and obligors to provide written responses within 30 days to service member relief requests, or waive objections and grant the requested relief.
