Adds Section 18013 to the Public Resources Code to define polyethylene terephthalate (PET) for labeling purposes, effective October 1, 2018.

Defines PET as a plastic derived from terephthalic acid or dimethyl terephthalate and monoethylene glycol where these components constitute at least 90 percent of the monomer mass.

Requires PET plastic to exhibit a melting peak temperature between 225 and 255 degrees Celsius as determined by ASTM D3418 procedure 10.1 with a 10 degrees Celsius per minute heating rate.

Clarifies that mislabeling bottles or containers that do not meet these physical characteristics remains a crime under existing law.

Specifies that no state reimbursement to local agencies or school districts is required because costs result from changes to criminal penalties or crime definitions.
