Designates May 22, 2018, as Trauma-Informed Awareness Day in California, in conjunction with National Trauma-Informed Awareness Day.

Recognizes that 42 percent of California children and 61 percent of California adults have experienced one or more adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), which can lead to long-term mental, emotional, and physical health consequences.

Acknowledges trauma-informed care as an approach that can prevent, identify, and support individuals and communities affected by trauma, adversity, and toxic stress.

Highlights trauma-informed initiatives in nearly half of California's 58 counties, including programs in Los Angeles, Sacramento, Fresno, Long Beach, Del Norte, and Mendocino counties that embed trauma-informed practices across public systems.

Directs the Chief Clerk of the Assembly to transmit copies of the resolution to the author for distribution.
