Recognizes June 12, 2018, as the 120th Anniversary of Philippine Independence and honors California's Filipino American community for their contributions to the state and nation.

Commemorates the Philippine Declaration of Independence proclaimed on June 12, 1898, in Cavite El Viejo by Filipino revolutionary forces under General Emilio Aguinaldo, declaring sovereignty from Spanish colonial rule.

Notes that the 1898 declaration was not recognized by the United States or Spain; the U.S. recognized Philippine independence on July 4, 1946, following the Treaty of Manila.

Calls upon the people of California to observe the month of June with appropriate ceremonies, programs, and activities honoring Filipino Americans and their historical contributions.

Acknowledges over 3.5 million Filipino Americans in the United States and highlights notable Filipino American leaders including Larry Dulay Itliong, Philip Vera Cruz, and Carlos Bulosan.
