Requests the Governor issue a proclamation encouraging Californians to observe October 2018 with appropriate programs and educational activities focused on construction careers

Notes that women currently occupy less than 3 percent of construction trade jobs nationally and supports policy efforts to achieve 20 percent representation by 2020

Emphasizes construction industry's need for skilled workers and the importance of apprenticeship programs as a debt-free career pathway

Encourages employers, associations, and schools to conduct job fairs, panel discussions, and community events to inform students of construction employment opportunities
