Supports the April 22, 2017, March for Science and affirms the importance of basic and applied scientific research, scientific education, and independent scientific inquiry in policymaking at all levels.

Urges the President and Congress to support, encourage, and incorporate scientific findings and truths into policymaking to maintain U.S. global leadership in scientific research and business innovation.

Highlights California's significant role in research, receiving over one-fifth of all U.S. research funding (upwards of $90 billion per year) and hosting four national laboratories and major research universities.

Emphasizes science's contributions to economic growth, public health, environmental protections, and quality of life, including medical breakthroughs, environmental regulations, and climate change understanding.

Directs the Chief Clerk of the Assembly to transmit copies to the President, Vice President, Speaker of the House, Senate Majority Leader, and California's federal representatives.
